RTS Foundation exists in part to assist donors in maximizing their giving to support Reformed Theological Seminary and its mission to equip leaders for the church of both today and tomorrow. For many of our donors, this is much more than simply sending funds they know will be wisely used in the ministries of RTS, but a calling to participate in the life and vision of RTS. Highlighted below are stories from some of our donors about their experiences in giving.
Horace and Mary Jane Sanders "If you're in the Lord's will, get fired." Horace Sanders says this only half-jokingly, because being dismissed from three jobs at a relatively young age was part of the process by which today he and his wife, Mary Jane, have been enabled to give millions of dollars to mission causes. The extent of their mission investments is remarkable, considering it all started when Horace invested "$25,000—all I had—plus $20,000 borrowed from my mother" to enable them to purchase a small hospital.....(more) Allene Putnam Allene Putnam has contributed to RTS every month for over 30 years. Historically, the steward was charged with caring for the assets of his master. Those assets were not the steward's property, but he was to treat them as if they belonged to him....(more)
